Starting the Engine
The following procedure should be followed in order to start the engine:

Check that the raw water sea cock is open.

Check that the Engine oil level is correct and fill as required.

Check that there are no loose items in or around the engine.
When the above are complete, continue as follows:

Turn ignition switch to the first position and observe the "red" ignition
light come on.

Once on, continue to turn the igntion switch until the "blue" light comes
on to signify that the glow plugs are warming. Hold the key in this position
and count twenty seconds before proceeding. This will allow sufficient
time for the glow plugas to warm up.

Once warmed, turn the ignition key to teh final position in order to "crank"
the engine over.

Allow the engine to crank for no longer than ten seconds without firing.

If engine fails to start, allow five minutes for the starter motor to cool
and for the batteries to "come up" again and then repeat steps 4 to 7.
NOTE: If after three tries, the engine fails to start,
there may be a problem which will mean getting your overalls on and checking
that the batteries are sufficiesntly charged and that there is fuel in
the system etc...
